Planova™ 15N, 20N & 35N

Filter structure

Each Planova™ filter contains a bundle of straw-shaped hollow fibers. The wall of each hollow fiber has a three-dimensional web structure of pores comprised of voids interconnected by fine capillaries.

Filtration mechanism

Based on size exclusion mechanism, membrane structure of Planova™ allows proteins to easily pass through the hollow fiber walls while viruses are efficiently captured in the membrane pores. During filtration of protein solutions, viruses are effectively removed while proteins smoothly permeate the fiber membrane, resulting in high protein recovery rates without adsorption or denaturation.
